I managed to install Easy Debian and got Icedove on the Desktop, no problems. I can even get the program running, but I'm still having problems.

When I try to run Icedove, I'm asked to create a profile. If I try to create one using the default folder (/user/.icedove/), I get complaints about profile being in use.

If I create a different profile, using another folder (say /user/.idove), it works.

However, the profiles aren't saved. Once I quit Icedove and restart it, the profile is gone and I'm again asked to create a new profile. When I check the folders I've created, they're there and full of Icedove data, but somehow Icedove cannot find them.

Anybody have a clue what's going on here? I'd love to use Icedove, as it's miles better than the default mail app.
