You can first download the youtube video to your computer, then convert it to 3gp and transfer it to your cell phone. Program you can use is Leawo Free YouTube Downloader. It can download and convert video from youtube.

    Why?

When you watch a youtube video it's stored on your PC in the cache folder for that specific browser.

You can play the file with Video player - no need to convert it.

For youtube there is no need for a separate software. Firefox and Chrome both had add-on's which adds a "download" link under youtube videos. You can automatically download the video in .mp4 format (including HD videos, and mp3 versions).

I used to download Flash videos from websites...but now many of those websites have removed the ability to download directly....

Now if I find a Flash video I want, I instead go online on my PC and use 'Orbit Downloader'...its a fantastic app.

Not only can it download Flash videos from ANY site, but will also scan your PC and advise you of any updates for any of the other programs you have installed on your PC....so you always have the latest versions programs on ya PC.

It is also a download manager.

Once a Flash video is downloaded, then just copy over to your N900, all good to go....no need to convert.

I just use Audials Tunebite's Youtube downloader for the job, this one can download and convert youtube videos to mp4 for my nokia without any problems.

Is DLHelper available as a firefox plugin for maemo ff?
I have it on my desktop and it's a great plugin, it allows you to download video elements from web pages.

I think the OP wants an app that will allow him to watch the Youtube/other site flash video on his phone and also download the video clip.

Zoutube is apparently not working, is this correct ? Even if it is working does it allow you to download.

I myself dont want to have to watch the clip on a desktop first, save and then transfer

    Any ideas ?
