I am able to use Xterm+openssh to run remote X windows applications on the Nokia N800 (i.e., the N800 X server works great opening remote X clientes, such as "xeyes").

The problem is, when the remote X application requires keyboard input, the virtual keyboard on the N800 doesn't open. The questio is how to use the keyboard with remote X applications opened from the Nokia Internet Tablets.

Just for verification, The network connection between the Nokia and the X remote device works fine and X applications open fine, just, there is no way to key in things.

Same thing, happens with VNCviewer. I can connect to a remote VNC server and see the remote desktop. Now, how to use the keyboard.

The firmware on my N800 is the latest (just upgraded a few days ago), and all X libs are the ones that come with the OS itself, no modifications here.

This behavior I have seen in all operating system versions of the Internet tablet, both the 700 and the N800.

Any hints and comments are welcome, thanks in advance.

The keyboard works fine for me with VNC viewer. I haven't tried X. In VNC viewer you have to press the D pad button to get the keyboard to come up, or just use a bluetooth keyboard. For a while I had an issue with the thumb board coming up instead of the virtual kb, but that was easily fixed by making sue the correct setting was configured in the control panel. Of course I don't remember what that was...

Good luck.
