I thought all had gone correctly, but I am stuck at the point where it goes through all the Android files and then gets stuck on a blank screen with only the white cursor at the top left of the screen. As this has come up before I followed the suggestion of going through step 6 again. It didnt work, when I try and load it now it says it cannot find line 1... I'll format the card again and have another go at it soon. I'll let you know how I get on in a while. Thank you all for your assistance.
thats easy fix, reextract 0.0.6 rootfs to the card and it'll work fine

    The next problem:
Multiboot has been successfully installed. I tried to do the NITDroid bit but it basically says, I haven't got bzip2 installed - which is correct. I am not able to install it via Xterminal as you know, and am unable to find it in the application manager. Any ideas? Are there any other programs I will need to get this up and running?

Nearly there.. hopefully. This isn't as easy as I thought.
    In x xterminal write:
    Code:
    root
    followed by:
    Code:
    apt-get install wget bzip2
Certify yourself that you are connected to the internet before doing that command!
That will install the packages: wget and bzip2 and your issue should be fixed!

    ------------------------------------[HELP]------------------------------------
    oh boy...

I had android running. I was multibooting between android and maemo without a problems

I noticed in Android I have a message that sd card is corrupted (top left corner). I clicked on it and it asked me do you want to reformat it. I thought...yea, lets give it a try we will see what hapends.

Nothing happened, I installed few more apps all was good and then when I rebooted to go back to maemo... and I can't!

On multibbot screen I chose maemo, I get output that reflash was sucessfull, it boots up again and I end up in a boot menu again.

The funny thing is that android boots up without a problem. Now I have a message in top left corner that SD card is blank!

Reflash or you gusy have any ideas?

ps. I am really forced to use Android now, am I

NITDroid mounts the emmc as an sd card. If you have formatted it, you have formatted the phone. You will need to reflash.

Thanks again, easy for who? haha. Unfortunately, I don't know what that means. Any chance of translating it into a step by step of what I need to do fix it? Then hopefully this blank screen with the cursor will be gone and I will be up and running.

I'm sure some of you may think, If he doesn't know what he's doing then maybe he shouldn't be doing this - and maybe they're right.

Cheers for everyones help and patience though.

Just repeat step 6. Extract the tar once again.

@browncaravan you need to do this in xterm:
    code:
    mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and
    cd /and
    rm -rf *
    tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/NITDroid-N900-the-flying-world.tar

That should do it for you

I take you already did download the newest rootfs -the flying-world- (0.0.6)...

    If not get it here:

    Hi Guys

I had to reflash my device after I 'formated sd card' under android and wipe out my maemo, like I said Lesson learned BUT I was playing a little bit with that phone before I did that and to be honest maybe becasue it was running android for hours (I didn't have time to falsh it) or maybe because sd was 'removed' system was running more smooth and phone wasn't so warm.

Even guitar hero was running better then before. Just wanted to share
TIP: Install Task killer. when system starts to slow down just kill all the tasks and it will work much better

BTW does sd card class impacts the system performance?
