You guys do realize that mupen64plus for the pandora still doesn't run at fullspeed right?

Does the Pandora port have a working Dynarec? If not you guys should donate for it and not a port of the pandora port. A good dynarec is what makes the emu fast and good as you can see when you look at mupen64 on the Wii. I don't know if you can compare the Wii and the N900 that easy but from the specs it looks like the (overclocked) N900 has more power.

That's a bit vague. Did you try the binaries.zip package? It has all the plugins you need, and you can invoke it same way you usually invoke mupen64.

Yes it includes a dynarec.

Yeah I forgot to paste the actual error :P

"Could not lovate valid install directory"

Have the plugins folder inside /home/user/.mupen64plus

Even tried mupen64plus --installdir /home/user/.mupen64plus and with dummy inputs.

EDIT: So any plans to get latest running with a nice GUI? I really had you pegged as a Nintendo fan for some reason :P

I add 10Euro for a acceptable working Emulator where at least some basic N64 games work (Like SuperMario64).

All the threads I've been following don't seem to think that way... (either way I already said that I'm quite busy at the moment).

I gather you might be missing the config files. Unpack both the source tarball and binaries in the same directory, and run "mupen64plus" from there -- it will copy the config files into $HOME.

Thats perfectly acceptable man you do what else is important first... I can survive. Also some recent posts on Pandora page (near the bottom) of feedback on how playable the most recent version is:
http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php...s/page__st__90
and on to the next page.

Also of note is a GUI version on that page, I couldn't find any screenshots of it... but perhaps in a couple weeks (when/if you have some time, or if someone else knowledgeable steps up) that would be the best time to take another shot at this.

Oh that seems be make a whole lot more sense. I was writing my own config files... will try it now.

Update: Got her running. As you said 10-12 fps in Zelda... the gameplay of it is much faster than the intro. With frameskip and dummyaudio its almost playable. Unfortunately, even at 1GHz its running slower than the pandora videos I've seen at 800. Couldn't get blight_input to work.. but mupen64_input seems to work... but I can't work out a lot of the keybinds (no conf file for it). Will try a couple more ROMs and see what else I can do with it.

I would love to get blight_input (or another that supports joysticks and doesn't require libsdl) so I can play with PS3 sixaxis.

EDIT2: Just tried Mario Kart 64 - It runs complete full speed! Also quite playable with the current bindings (space = z, w = a, x = b, s = R). Super Mario 64 is also looking full speed, but I can't get passed the first screen as there is no binding for Start (It's Return from what I can tell, but N900 sends KP_Enter for its return button).

Just beat the 50cc class in Mario Kart 64 with no play issues at all. Someone PRETTY PLEASE recompile latest source with a better input plugin??

EDIT3: Managed to get blight_input working. Installed the Ren'Py application which is using a libsdl package optimized for the N900. I then was not only able to play with my keyboard, but also with my PS3 Sixaxis (with full joystick support). This is what life is made for! Currently playing Super Mario 64 at full speed (no sound, frame skip of 2) on my couch at 640x480 output to TV playing with PS3 controller.

Might upload a video later, but I'd be filming with a 1.3MP camera on my old phone.

When I tried to run the emulator (unzipped binaries.zip and extracted Mupen64Plus-1-5-src-arm+gles2n64.tar.gz in /opt/mupen64plus) and when running mupen64plus, i got "Error: No graphics plugin specified."

Google didn't gave me a solution.

Content of ./plugins:
[2|user@Nokia-N900-51-1|/opt/mupen64plus/Mupen64Plus-1-5-src-arm-2010027/plugins]ls
blight_input.so gles2n64.so mupen64_input.so
dummyaudio.so jttl_audio.so
dummyvideo.so mupen64_hle_rsp_azimer.so

Ok first of all, remove all the work you've done and start over. And do the following:
Do NOT use root permissions for any of this... it will make matters worse.

Download both the binaries and source files from first page.
Extract both to mupen64plus folder in /home/user folder. (Tip: Get the 7zip package and use 7z x <filename>)
Move into mupen64plus folder.
Run executable with ./mupen64plus
If you get an error here, chmod +x mupen64plus and then try again.
On first run this will create config files at /home/user/.mupen64plus (not if your logged in to root it'll place this in /root/ directory, which is a no-no)
Move there and edit mupen64plus.conf (I'd suggest using leafpad)
This is where you define plugins to use. GFX should be gles2n64.so Audio should be dummyaudio.so (I've yet to find a game that can handle actual audio... but if you want to try it use jttl_audio.so) Input should be mupen64_input.so (Or blight_input.so with some tweaking below) Finally, RSP should be the default.
Save the file and then open gles2n64.so for editting. Here I changed the screen width to 640 and height to 480 (for original resolution.. only reason) and set frame skip to 2 (your going to need it) also disable fog (can't remember if it was enabled).
Now that's all done the emulator should be good to go. Create a symlink:
sudo ln -s /home/user/mupen64plus/mupen64plus /usr/bin/mupen64plus
and navigate to folder with ROMs in it.
mupen64plus <romname> should be all you need. Note that it has serious issues with rom files with spaces or brackets in them.. so rename your ROM to as simple a name as possible.

I'd suggest Mario Kart 64 as a test ROM as it runs very well.

If you want to get blight_input working. Go and install the application Ren'Py (There is probably an easier way to do this.. but ren'py appears to install libsdl nice and neatly with a few bugfixes). Once done edit the blight_input.conf file with keymap. Also note that Blight supports the PS3 sixaxis completely, including joysticks, you just need to remap the keys. If anyone is interested I can upload my modified blight_input.conf with fully working PS3 controller maps.

Now, commands needed (assuming you have 7zip-full, leafpad, rootsh and the files saved in MyDocs folder)
In a new terminal:
If you don't want to install 7z extract it on your computer and mv files to that folder instead.
Code:
mkdir mupen64plus
cd mupen64plus
7z x ../MyDocs/binaries.zip
7z x ../MyDocs/Mupen <press tab>
7z x Mup <tab> (if it extracts it to tar.. and not fully... can't remember what it does)
(Also unsure of directory level it extracts everything too, however it should all be in the mupen64plus folder, so use the mv command to get it all there)
chmod +x mupen64plus
./mupen64plus
cd /home/user/.mupen64plus
leafpad mupen64plus.conf (edit as specified above)
leafpad gles2n64.conf (edit as specified above)
sudo ln -s /home/user/mupen64plus/mupen64plus /usr/bin/mupen64plus

To start game:
cd MyDocs/<gamelocation>
mupen64plus <romname>
