I'm getting static too, on powerpc running osx trying to convert some mp4 files that i got from handbrake (dvd ripper)

btw, the static happens if i play in vlc/quicktime/or on the 770 itself, and it isn't just a little static... the audio is pure static, no usable sound at all

java *shouldn't* care what processor it is running on, did mencoder change at any point?

the program has actually never worked for me but I've only had the 770 for about a month, did you happen to change the mencoder version around that point?

Apparently the universality of the universal binary is questionable. I'll put today a powerpc version online.

I can then add it to the osx package.

I would like the Media Converter to have an option to grab only a certain portion of long videos. There could be one slider for each end that we drag to the minutes/seconds we want to start at, and the other side to end at.

Additionally, there could be a checkbox to turn the part being grabbed into the part being skipped if you wanted to KEEP the ends but not the middle. This would be a simple, elegant solution to give us the power to render videos from long clips with wasted portions we don't want not having onto go on our tiny mmc's.

    Thanks for your time.

Media converter 1.0 updated to the files section of this site. Feel free to download the windows installer from there.

Ceklund: I'll consider adding start end slider. Maybe into some advanced features tab.

edk4971: mac version has now universal binary mencoder, which apparently doesn't work on g3/g4 processors. So much for universality. Or perhaps you guys have panther and it needs tiger. Go figure. Anyway, I have lost the powerpc mencoder and haven't been able to extract it from a .sit file laying on my desktop. *sigh*. I just hate stuffit packs. If you need to get it working, send me an email, I'll send you the .sit file, you extract it and send me the mencoder file. A deal?

I can't find an mencoder file after installing or mounting player. Where is it? I can't e-mail you through the site either. The link just takes me back to the home page. I'm on a G5 and am using Tiger BTW.
