The shuffle problem is reproducable:
Put a huge amount of titles into the default playlist.
Play in shuffle mode, everything is ok.
Play other content, for example a podcast or internet radio.
Select the default playlist again and play in shuffle mode.
The playlist has only 60 tracks after that.
If I clear the playlist and refill, everything works ok, until
doing the above.
I think I can see where the problem arises. The playlist is still loading while the list of random items is already built up and so will only contain the first few items. I'll be doing some debugging on this.
Thanks. It's a bug in mplayer, so has nothing to do with MediaBox. Other player backends report the tags correctly.
"Unknown Audio" is used for the mp3 radio streams so I did set it to OSSO Media Server, then restarted MediaBox and tried this radio, but it only shows the radio title and not the song, clip title. At least with MPlayer the song,clip title is shown with question marks. So how come no song title is shown? While with the same OSSO Media Server in the default media player, song title is shown also?
I also tried the third backend Gstreamer but that fails to play the streams... Did it work for you with this url?
By the way the reason I dont use the OSSO backend is that many radio streams buffer for a long time with it. Any solution to that?
Another, more serious issue i encountered is movie playback with the mplayer backend, which is mandatory for presentation purposes due to stability and consistency. When playing back widescreen AVI-media, i get a wrong aspect ratio, the width is being forced to fit screen, while KMplayer plays them fine. When using Gstreamer and MAFW, the aspect ratio is correct, but i get hiccups due to occasional high bitrates, so this not an option.
I fixed this today.
Edit: Does going fullscreen with the mplayer backend crash your N900, or is it just me? mplayer on the N8x0 used to have this bug which eventually got fixed, but it looks like it's back on the N900.

No problems here going fullscreen with my available files.
OP: could you default video playing to landscape? ie: i look at my audio playlist in portait mode, and forced portait on by default. but when i play video, i have to change it back to landscape to watch the video. so why not just make landscape as default mode for video playing? just an idea. thanks again for your awesome app.

BT arready works via AVRCP. I mean the same functionality
like the package headset-control provides. At the moment,
it interacts with MB only, when the original mediaplayer was
started once before.
