Some of the posts here are simply m0r0nic - no wonder many people have stopped posting in this forum.

@yodawg: Omg dude, i'm sorry to say but you're a sheep of a different kind if you have to come here and ask around for us to support your decision.

May i ask why you bought the N900 in the first place?

may be his house is missing a brick and that's why he bought the N900 to filling in the gap! hahaha. N900 is far from perfect, i'm still disappointed with the camera bugs and damn i want PAUSE when recording plus autofocus while recording.

come on guys...im pritty sure the graphics capability of this phone has alot of potential..imean look at BOUNCE for example..u cant find such awesome games.(i think)
the sad thing is we ALL spent 500$ on a phone..we expect the device to deliver instantly. not with mods etc. i AGREE that you can scratch your own itch with open source, but to be honest, maemo isnt the smoothest OS ive used. lags and chops up.
and to remove it u have to overclock which would void your warranty.
    sort of a mood killer.
btw, im just gonna wait for a good game to come out for the phone..
and imma overclock it to 1 ghz !
lets see how that mean baby works then!!!

Why can't we all accept that we made the biggest blunder when we bought N900 and also nokia cheated with us and also we had very high expectations for support from nokia. In the end we are the losers.

The N900 has been superceded by newer hardware because that is the way it goes on mobile development but the N900 will go on a lot longer than anything brought out in the past simply because it is the first mobile computer and has turned out to be a great test bed for software developers and will continue to do so for some time yet.

It is a design started from the first quarter of 2009 and since it's release a lot has been learned by Nokia so i suspect strongly it has turned out to be the "prototype" mobile computer from Nokia in the hands of the general public.

All i can say is watch out for future devices from Nokia knowing what they have learned from the N900 as it will only get better and better.

Regardning the battery.. All smartphones doesn't hold battery good. I saw some comparison where the n900 is better than Nexus One. My battery holds approximately for 30-48 hours depending of what i do. If i buy a Mugen 2400mAh it would hold for a week. That is not bad for a smartphone.

[B]All the other smart phones have 512mb ram
    We get just 256
At first, learn how linux/unix manages memory, after vomit here things like this!

Anyway, have you already got your final exam?

Well N900 is 8 months old....

I got Galaxy S that i would say is probally considered now the strongest in hardware front.
N900 got much sharper screen(because of the pentile display used in Galaxy), N900 got better build quality(Galaxy S feels like a plastic toy), N900 got flash, camera protection and most importantly N900 got qwerty.

My 1ghz overclocked N900 is still the best browsing machine i have used. That said i love my galaxy s because of the thinnes, s amoled still looks amazing as long as you are not reading small print(especially videos look great) and music quality thru 3.5 jack is nothing else than amazing. Samsungs hummingbird is also doing some magic in video playback and in general speed.

I can honestly say that i like maemo 5 more than Android. It is what i want from mobile OS. It's by no means perfect, but it's the only OS that tries to be what i want. I can only hope Nokias Harmattan-MeeGo continues that rather than what we have seen of the vanilla Android. If that part is right and Nokia releases the device with the hw rumoured it's starting to really be close of perfection from where i'am looking.
