You need to have the correct repositories installed. Unfortunately, for Kismet, they aren't available that I've seen. Go to http://eko.one.pl/maemo/index.php?pa...Fbinary-armel/
and download the kismet .deb from there. You'll need to install it via dpkg -i kismet*.deb, and force the install. It will fail due to wrong version of libpcap (which you'll also have to install, but that can be done from the package manager). You'll need to set up a symlink from libpcap.so.0.9.5 to libpcap.so.0.8, and then it should work.

HOWEVER! It won't work on the latest firmware for the n800. It starts to scan, then quits in about 3-5 seconds. If you're running the original n800 firmware, it works well, will use the GPS if you have one (search the forums for gpsd instructions).

I can confirm that Kismet works more or less properly on the first two N800 firmwares, but fails with the third release. With the third release version of the fw, Kismet starts and begins scanning, but stops collecting data after a short while.
