You could try "apt-get -f install freoffice" in the terminal.. if not successful you might need to purge the cache in /var/lib/dpkg/info/.

I am not sure which to remove but you could try..

1. root
2. rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/koff*
3. rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/freeo*

and then try install again..

I am so excited to see this released! I had about given up on it as a Nokia flash-in-the-pan marketing trick.

Uninstall Docs2Go first and it should work.

And someone made a boo boo in their packaging.

This worked for me! I was hesitant to uninstall DocsToGo - but it was buggy anyway.

How can I get the virtual keyboard to work with this?

Nice program!
In contrast to DocsToGo it supports Hebrew and Arabic fonts:

But - I found no place to manipulate RTL direction of writing - does anyone know how to do this?
Also, if I can't get the virtual keyboard to work, I won't be able to write - only read - these other languages (they're not etched into the keyboard yet - so I have to guess).
Any solutions?

Thanks for your efforts to test the application, we will take a look at these issues and sure will try to fix these issues. Freoffice does not support rtf, abw rest all should be supported, if not it is a clear bug we need to fix. BTW The work done in freoffice is done mainly in upstream so everyone are welcome to join in and contribute. If you have some nice idea or a request for feature please add it to this discussion thread we will look into it. If you would like to contribute, You can also find most of us in our IRC channel #freoffice on freenode server.

I am sure you know, but just in case, you can use OpenOffice.org for that with Easy Debian.

This is a great announcement. But, I have all my docs in ODF format. How good is ODF format support now. Last I heard KOffice was still lagging quite a bit. I feel inclined to just keep using OOo. Using the info on this page has made a big difference in its speed for me.

Thanks - but easy debian is soooo sloooow. It's also very unintuitive to me for some reason - I gave up after trying after 4 or 5 times.

Well, maybe I am doing something wrong, but there are at least three issues I can see:

1. Cannot create a new presentation
2. Cannot type in small letters, unless holding the shift key (switch from caps to small letters does not happen)
3. When opening an exostong document, I can make changes but the standard editing toolbar (shown when editing a new document) is missing.
