I just notice this morning, on the N900, menu>Availability keeps on searching, the green dot is flicking between green and white constantly. Under accounts, I have google talk, sipphone/gizmo5 and skype. And the yellow warning "cannot connect to one or more accounts" kept on coming every few minutes. I dont think it is normal. I turned from Online to Offline, then it stopped searching, but I was NOT able to use either skype/sipphone/google talk.

I am on wifi
Setting>Internet connections
connect automatically Wi-Fi
Search interval Never

Location
GPS enable checked
Network positioning enable checked

Any suggestions? could this be the problem of shorten battery life? How can I turn off the availability searching and still able to use skype/sipphone/google? Not sure whether this is the situations yesterday or before PR1.2. I just notice now, and it has been going on for half and hour....

Edit: I got to go to work now, it has been searching ALL morning, almost an hour now, it keeps on flicking between green dot and white dot and my N810 does not do that, reboot already, no help. OMG

N900/PR1.2

Very upsetting! I have the same setting on my N810, and it is solid green....that means problem NOT with my router or wifi, it is problem with my N900 setting.........now I know why my skype talking people complain it is "in and out". Someone please help. TIA,

I think the constant attempts to connect do shorten battery life. And no there isn't a way to turn off the availability searching and still use the account. Though I found that if you click on the account name/service and hit save it reconnects without a problem. I mainly experience this with epage's TOR plugin.

I got to run to work......too late already, I rebooted my router, I know I just said it is NOT my router, and rebooted my N900, even removed the battery out for a few second.... AND on Location unchecked "enable" on gps device and unchecked "enable" on Network positioning. I know I am panic, now the problem solved, I got a solid green on my N900. Thank god. I wonder

1) How long will this solid green remains? this time?
2) When is this "availability" hit again?

a very worrisome newbi to N900
