hi guys, I've got to move some files to my root directory in mass storage mode, but I can't see the root directory folder on the p.c screen. I've got it showing hidden files on the p.c. any ideas?

cheers.

the root directory is the very top level directory in the file system, kind of like c:\ in windows, so just stick it in the folder that opens when you open the n900 as a drive

Mate I grew up in the Garden of England, sunny Kent, and was born in Africa - so that makes me about 2000 miles more southern than you I should imagine, if you're just south of the Watford gap lol!

But yeh, they're all northerners up here mate..... Werkin down t'pit, shovellin t'coal, t'put bread on't table!!!

If you mean the root directory of the N900 filesystem, ie "/", then you can't. USB mass storage mode only allows access to the directory /home/user/MyDocs/.

You can access the complete filesystem via ssh/sftp, so if you're using windows then use something like winscp. Also with sftp there's no need for /home/user/MyDocs/ and memory card to be umounted as would be the case when using mass storage mode.
