It has been my observation that traditional NIT/N900 users are not heavy users of Facebook as it's genesis was on a desktop computer that some may have had more productive use scheduled for at the time.
Tweets began life and were used more often on a T9, 12 key phone pad thats limitations drove the demand by some for a QWERTY NIT in the first place.
Things change though, and as more and more civilians are using smarter phones, demand for mobile GUI versions of these services has sky rocketed... but that is from these traditional users who now have these smarter phones. Not from the old school QWERTY mobile users.
Perhaps if these services or a even a completely different/new one offered an easy to use mobile GUI for forum participation they could kill two birds with one stone:
Increase forum usage in the summer months and; attract more geeks to their services.
I'm thinkin' interest will pick up in September...
I'm also thinkin' Twitter at least needs to tweak their model to accommodate what now can be done by its users with these smarter phones.
