hi fellow n900 freaks!!!

i sold my old n900 n bought a new one.

the old one ws a uk model, n the new ones a made in korea!!!

ive noticed tht the old one ws much faster compared to my new n900.

for eg. i never experienced lag when an incomming call ws coming, but wit the new one sometime i cant even recieve as the device become irresponsive!!

also over all the device is sometime very slow, the funny thing is tht ive restored the old n900s bak up on my new one n the old one ws much faster. .

even wit over clocking theres lag.

is this a hardware issue or a software issuse?

has nwone faced this issuse?

ny comments would be helpful.

thks!!! (n900 the laptop replacer)!!!

All N900s are made in Korea.

Is it on the latest firmware?

it may be you just had a better processor in the old one, as we've seen with oc'ing some can handle 1150mhz where others struggle to get past 850mhz,
mine is stable all the way to 1150mhz but ive started to get problems with my usb port becoming loose, and i am dreading sending it back to nokia in case it cant be repaired and i end up with one thats not as good.

also all n900's are made in korea afaik.

Nnnnope mine's manufactured and bought in Finland. 8)

Responce to actual post:
I've noticed that bringing backups onto devices usually slow them down, so after clean restarts I try to restore everything manually. Of course I can't do this for everything (Calendar entries, numbers) but I try to keep restoring from a backup file to an absolute minimum.

Also, if you are running latest firmware, which flash version do you have?

To compare you have to have both in vanilla state. Meaning:
- Just flashed emmc+rootfs
-->No apps or customization by you.

Then you can compare. When you install single app you basically have altered the factory default system and you have end up in situation that could not anymore be fully comparable to setups what other users have.

No, it was designed in Finland.

Take off your rear cover, take out the battery and you'll see a white sticker with the words:

NOKIA
Model: N900
Type: RX-51
MADE IN KOREA

If it says Finland, well, pics or it didn't happen!!!

Open the keyboard and look on the backplate of the screen and it tells you "Designed in Finland" with the CPU info at the opposite end.

If it doesn't, then check the back cover. If "Carl Zeiss. Tessar 2.8/5.2. AF 5MP" is embossed into the camera cover and NOKIA Nseries is printed on the back cover, then you may well have a fake.

Afaik all protos and preseries for highend devices are made in Finland. Production is all over the world.

Bloody hell! Never before seen an N900 made in Finland! Talk about turn up for the books....

Mines made in Korea, and to the best of my knowledge every other one on the planet is made in Korea, but here we have evidence to the contrary!

However, check out the line that states "NOT FOR SALE"..... Early prototype build - don't know why they even bothered putting a sticker in it stating country of origin.....
