i think after the iphone4 leak fiasco, nokia have leaked these photos as disinformation!
they will want to get one over on apple and release something that wasnt leaked

Maybe I'm stupid but why can't the screen resolution be easily calculated if someone has the hardware powered and in hand? Couldn't you just load a couple of Jpegs of known resolution and zoom them to native size?

I wish we had some firm hardware / firmware specs. But I'm sure the announcement can't be too far off.

There is no reason to expect Symbian N8 to be stable at all. The UI has been refreshed which means new code had to be written and probably some low-level code changed to support it.

The testing cycle time is probably no better than N9, infact its more likely to be less stable as you have to shoe-horn new code ontop of such old legacy code.

In my opinion the current developers working on Symbian since v5 touch screen are the most incompetent in the industry. My guess is the team is a revolving door based in India

From where have this whole low screen resolution rumour even started from? Because of N8? The reason behind that are the old Symbian apps that will change when S^4 comes out.
You can all point and laugh at me if N9 got nHD screen.

If anything i'm more worried about the UI, CPU and future applications.

All that said i have been thinking the same. Just getting N8 with the HDMI out and great camera + MeeGo tablet. Only problem is that it's rather silent in the meeGo tablet area for now but hopefully we see some devices by the end of this year.

From a design point of view the E7 COULD also be a N8-02, a Nokia N8 with hardware keyboard.
I thought so, too in the past because of the incredible similarity.
But I was told that it is the E7.
    Hmmm...

Start wondering if the "kinaprototyp of n9" really is a phone that will be released.

I mean why would nokia release both an "N8-02 with S3" and a N9 with Meego/Maemo6 at the same time?

Also should we ask ourselft if Meego is ready for "mainstream" in december? Take a look at the Meego handset now and it is for sure not ready I dont get how it could be ready in just a few months? I mean it is about 3 months left of this year?

Dont get me wrong I really hope we get an Meegophone soon but :-)

I doubt that new thing called n9 would handle all the drops in the floor as good as the mighty n900. Its a rock! I'm glad I don't have a n9

Although i agree with your thoughts on symbian, I do not like your comment on incompetent industry because it is in India. Please refrain from such statements.

About the screen resolution... Just read some C++ code:

    http://meego.gitorious.org/meegotouc...h/trees/master

They are hard coding 864 x 480 pixels everywhere all the time.

I could not agree with you more. I really hope this is NOT what nokia is putting out there. The shape alone is going to be a turn off for alot of people including me.
