The other day i read somone describing this setup where they had a BT watch and if their phone moved out of range it would sound an alarm; i thought of somthing similar for the N900, the prog would start automaticly on each boot, you would configure a password in it, the password would be used to enable and disable it and to cancel the alarm if it's triggered, you also would configure the BT address of the device the prog is to monitor ( it will check if it is in range, doesn't need to pair)
When the alarm is triggered it would lock the screen and keys but would still monitor them checking if the password is entered, giving no feedbak until the password is entered coerrectly all the way, it would also run a script (the default script would just play a sound full volume and flash the screen, but you would be able to add any commands you want to the script.
There would be the option of not asking for the password for enabling and disabling the monitorment. If it is set to require password to disable and bluetooth is turned off while the alarm is enabled it will be triggered, but if it's set to not need password then it will be disabled togethefr with bluetooth (since if it doesn't need password to disable the same person that disabled bluetooth could have disabled it as well)
I myself would set it to look for my BT headset, i rarelly leave the house without it, somtimes i disconnect it from the device to get sound from the speakers, but since i just disconnect with the device itself instead of turning off the headset the headset is still visible.
