thanks all! i really dont think it was nitdroid related since these problems began before i attempted installing nitdroid. but since the nitdroid thread provided (and since you lot) indicated removal and re-install was okay i have done that. with 'some success' i'm not getting the error now, i'm getting a new one! but since things seem to be working now i'll soldier along and see if i can sort that too, if not i'll be back!
