I have been looking for google maps on maemo, trying to get some decent working maps, or just any maps, .................Nitdroid Market, search maps, results 839 hits. Can one of you guys confirm this, just search maps, before bunanson is going to be labelled as nitdroid fanboy? 839 maps, university maps, subway maps, bus maps, crime, yes, crime maps, wifi maps, MTS maps, London transit, NY transit, the list goes on and on Does the sheer magnitude tell you anything about nitdroid? One can argue some of the apps are BS, but reference stuff, maps, books, database, this can hardly be called BS stuff.

There is an extensive list on 1st post about what software are compatible with nitdroid. For me, essential FREE apps has been dl and found useful:
OI file manager - a good file manager
Advanced Task Manager FREE - a good task manager
Task Manager - another good one task manager
RockPlayer - plays ALL video smoothly so far

Have NOT tried any paid apps yet. Thank you for the nitdroid team, just get me excited for my kind of bored N900 lately. I have been playing with nitdroid for over 2 days now, it is really fun.

Can everyone just take the discussion to nitdroid forums? Almost each problem listed in this thread has been answered and solved on there with occasional linking back to TMO for instructions already provided on some issues.

my sdcard (Kingston 32Gb class4) does not mount automatically with autoinstaller...

    My problem is:
    "Mounting /dev/mmcblk1p2 ...FAILURE. Bailing out."

    any solution for this !??

    thanks in advance...

I had to format it manually, but I don't think this is the problem

Reading back I would say you need a higher class of sdcard. I also have a class 4 so probably wont bother till I get a new one.

As an example to us all what is the lowest class of sdcard anybody has used? Do I need to go all the way to 10 or is 6 or 8 enough?

So, let's assume you have installed or updated to latest kernel-power after installing NITDroid.

Note. kernel-power is compatible with multiboot starting from version 39.

First, make sure you have version 39 or later installed.

Second, you MUST also have the zImage file from kernel-power.
It comes in an optional package kernel-power-bootimg. If in doubt, do this:

    Code:

    apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg kernel-power-modules

Now you can either manually modify the .item file, or you can let multiboot handle it automatically:

    Code:

    apt-get install multiboot-kernel-power

This will do everything for you!
I did all this but how to set the mhz with this option?
I can choose it from Multiboot but can't set the mhz

I dont think this is the problem because I have problems mounting it manually too
