The problem I get is that when I try to answer an incomming call, the screen cant make up its mind which way round it wants to be and swaps between landscape and portrate thus preventing me from answering as quick as I'd like to.
Also on a number of occassions when I've tried answering a call I've accidently pressed the sms button and lost the call ( why is there an sms button when your trying to answer the phone ? )
if there is enough space to not engage the proximity sensor, then you should be able to take out your phone without touching the screen. i personally have the phone screen facing my leg so if i bump into anything nothing will damage the screen. i do this when i goto work in slacks or in jeans, but my slacks have quite large pockets.

Just anoying realy.
I had that problem for a while, and ended up locking the screen rotate to landscape mode (regardless of handset orientation). I chose landscape as it's how I use my phone the rest of the time.

Yes, you're right, I should be. But evidently I cant, hence my post.

Looking for a way to prevent accidental answering of the phone while it's in my pocket. Slide to answer would be perfect, but I don't think it's available? Otherwise, some way of locking the screen (so requiring more than just one screen press) to answer/reject the call. I seem to accidentally reject 90% of the incoming calls on my N900, and am missing a lot of important ones.
Thanks.
Call-locker from extras-devel. Locks screen when unlocked by incoming call. Works just fine.
Same problem here... But it happens quite differently... I have my N900 inside a Leather Case in my bag. Now when it rings I open the bag and as soon as i touch the leather case it stops ringing... The only way I have to see who called is to go in the Phone Menu and it gives me the number as an Answered Call (with the green arrow down)
I can't get to answer a call since a long time... As soon as I touch the leather case no matter where... even taking it carefully from sides it stops ringing... Really really annoying.... Installed call locker but nothing changed... Any suggestion?

Can't this be the fact that N900 silences the ringtone, if you turn the phone? (Try having the phone on a table, on incoming call, turn the phone over [from display up to display down towards table], the ringtone stops, but the phone is still ringing)
