Oh no. I have always said that tablets are useless compared with netbooks, And now this, that has passed me by unnoticed.
MeeGo, 3g, WiFi, multitouch. I want one, and I want it now.

Hold the press! Are you implying that Nokia will finally deliver an OS that will play OGG officially??
I thought they were all about how OGG will cause legal hellstorm and stuff, remember?

Ogg Theora is the one with all of the "submarine patents" or whatever they're called. Not Ogg Vorbis.

Theora (aka VP2) is the risky one. Though I suppose we're better off using VP8 these days. And Vorbis
might
be risky, but definitely less so.
Mind you, it won't be
Nokia
doing this but the MeeGo project, which exists under the Linux Foundation.
I suppose that's a dodge, if there ever was one

And taking it even further away isn't it the manufacturer that will either package them with MeeGo if they so decide, not MeeGo.

Well, the manufacturer may decide to include other codecs. I
think
Vorbis is part of the base MeeGo standard, so it must be present to be compliant.

Even worse, people reported a battery life time of 4 to 6 hours.
Well, it's definitely a @home tablet for "couch potatoe computing".
