I don't think that says the OS is built in QT. Rather that they're QT compatible so they can run QT apps. The only OS I know of that will be built with QT is Meego.

Well the MeeGo netbook UX is build around GTK. The not yet released MeeGo handheld UX, Symbian^4 and Nokia's MeeGo-Harmattan are build on Qt.

Just kidding, i´m from Brazil and I´m glad nokia just released n900 here, so I think they have plans for it here....
I don´t think nokia would do that if they were planning to trash it soon..
but this post made me be more hopefull for the n900 future.

os written in qt doesnt matter. All that matters is that os is compatible to standard qt apis and off you go with compiling
