I've found sysstat package here in devel repository: http://repository.maemo.org/pool/fre...ree/s/sysstat/

I was surprised that it isn't available on device by default. I want create application using sysstat tools for customers and don't want implement features which is provided by tools from sysstat package. Why is sysstat placed in devel repository? Who is maintainer for it? Can we move it from so restricted repository to extras? I don't think that sysstas so dangerous and we can publish it in extras.

Thanks in advance, Pavel.

So, I'll write email to package owner directly.

Anyway, the main question why this package is placed in so restricted repository? I don't think that it was decided by one guy (:

Actually, don't. The listed address is that of the upstream (debian) package maintainer who has nothing to do with the Maemo package. Better to try the @nokia.com address from debian/changelog instead, or file a request in bugs.maemo.org.

It is very doubtful that anyone with debian.org email is true maintainer of package provided by Nokias tools repository. Probably the best place to ask questions about this package is maemo-devel mailing list,

In fact guy(Mika Yrjola <ext-mika.2.yrjola@nokia.com>), who has added latest sysstat version entered wrong email in changelog or doesn't work for Nokia anymore.

You could always roll your own package (with correct Maintainer: etc), and push it to extras-devel. I don't think the same packages being present in the SDK tools repository is a problem, after all there's plenty of precedent.
