Default Failed catalogue: maemo.org Extras. "Sub-process gzip returned an error code."

Hi all,

got an n900 on T-mobile UK running PR 1.2.

I get a failed catalogues message on:
maemo.org
maemo Extras

There are a few apps listed, but i presume they are the Ovi store ones.

what is the <easy> way to get the phone working as it should again?

cheers

Those two should be the same thing anyway, so you can probably delete one of them. You'll need to check on why the catalogue is failing - in App Manager, tap on the title bar and select "Application catalogues" from the menu. Select a catalogue marked with a red X and see what error is reported.

I have just the maemo.org repository. the error is

Sub-process gzip returned an error code (1)

Is there something I am missing?

i tried to refresh the catalogues list... once again maemo.org was not updated... but this time some of the apps in extras appeared... tried to do a refresh and they all went away again... something must indeed be wrong with the repo.

Just try again after a couple of minutes, that usually helps.
