Is it possible (using a Bluetooth dongle) to turn the computer into a 'bluetooth keyboard' for the N770 / N800? With Bluetooth PAN and Keyboard exporting, you'd essentially have a wireless docking station.

Why not use VNC and/or SSH?

I use both and don't need any other connectivity.

with VNC I use my PC keyboard and also the mouse works too for some actions

I installed x11vnc on my N800 and VNC viewer on my PC

...for playing Exult on the 770... vnc is too slow for that. I need a BT keyboard, but dont have it. It would be cheaper and faster to just use the desktop computer to emulate a BT keyboard, don't you think?

Stupid question, I know, but if you need to sit in front of a desktop computer to use the keyboard to control a game on the 770, why wouldn't you just play the game on the desktop computer itself?

The idea is to be portable, no? Why not just get a BT keyboard - either a stowaway or a nokia keyboard - and be truly portable?

because you can't install exult at work. and with just a bt dongle, i have a portable docking station.

i think a lot of people don't understand a concept of workplaces not having WIFI, or WIFI not being ideal for a tablet. or server software installed to monitor activity on the work computer.
and don't understand that there is a point to using a tablet sitting in front of a PC for the activities that are not accessible on the PC. but using PC hardware in some 3rd party way to facilitate tablet usage..

yeah it sounds silly but I use my tablet at work for personal websurfing and the wifi is not provided by my job, it's from elsewhere. my other use cases are in the car for directions or at a coffee shop reading the news. the only time I need good text input is at work or at home. @ home, I can use my main computer to type long messages, but at work with all the logging and blocking, I'd rather use my tablet. So, I guess the answer to my question is: No, purchase a bluetooth keyboard. thanks!
