I think that a video sip application which allows both video and audio broadcasting could be an interesting addition to our device.

This one, imsdroid, is for the android platform.

Any developer interested?

The N900 built in SIP-client supports both video and audio calling over IP-networks. The SIP-clients is configured through the N900 settings and requires a SIP service/server to register to.

All Maemo 5 and Maemo 4 devices support SIP and XMPP video calls with latest official Nokia software updates.

I tried connecting Samsung Galaxy Tab with Android and sipdroid or ismdroid to Nokia N900 with stock sip plugin but couldn't show any video from any of the two devices

I'm guessing the video codec capability negotiation is failing. Common and non-trivial. Without getting into code (SIP on both sides is open source), on the Maemo 5 side you can dump some output to confirm:

dbus-monitor --session > <file path of choice>
Codecs, codecs, codecs!

I don't know about Android, but maybe you can enable extras-devel and/or extras-testing and search for codecs you don't have installed.
