is there and alternative media streaming for N900? i tried installing Tversity on my windows partition but i cannot stream mkv files...
i wish someone would make a nice streaming app...

Yeah, ukki did. It's called knots2.
PACKAGE: http://maemo.org/packages/view/knots2/
WIKI: http://wiki.maemo.org/Knots
SUPPORT - ISSUES: http://github.com/solmis/knots/issues
SUPPORT - CHAT: #knots on IRC:: chat.freenode.net
This program depends on a complete, working VLC http://www.videolan.org/ installation on your system. Sometimes people have trouble with VLC. If getting VLC running is a problem for you, then please direct your issues to the VLC community or VLC developers.
This means if you have a broken VLC, you can not claim that Knots isn't supporting you. Knots isn't responsible for fixing upstream libraries or packages.
Knots IS being supported. However ONLY Knots problems are being fixed. Not your broken system.
I hope this closes the thread.
