Interesting, but the actual battery increase isn't necessarily for standby time it's actually for the use of applications which I can't demonstrate here. You said before that you also played around with pulse audio. It may be the reason why you have such good battery life as I have.
Please note I am not targeting battery life only, I also target performance and sound quality.

Edit: If you have a good eye you would see a point where I did a restart on the device, which in turn made me loose exactly 1% of battery life where one would usually loose 7% upon restart. This demonstrates the increase in battery life when one uses an application.

Look at the areas where the purple line is highest....the area with the small gap is where i did a device restart.

Thanks a lot for this! I just ran the patch. Will report with results soon. I have had TERRIBLE battery life, so hopefully this will help. Thanks again

The reason I'm posting is that I'm intrigued by the quote above. Have you fitted new speakers? If not, have you considered getting better speakers from another phone? Just a thought.
No fitting of new speakers, I have only lost one of my speakers (the right one), which doesn't make much of a difference to me as the n900 speakers were very low to begin with. I plan on buying new device either a second n900 or the meego n9. Although my device is still under warranty.

I only tried your patches on PR1.2, I've flashed since then so remnants of prior patches is a non-issue.

Can you post any battery eye screenshots (batterygraph would be better btw) of the cpu maxed out.

i.e. with the processor locked to 1150 and playing a film.

Notice I dropped 450mAh in 1 hour, this was running a few microbs xchat, fapman, ssh, music etc, really bashing the cpu.

I would like to see what sort of battery drop you'd incur for doing similar things.

I'm not over clocked and I don't plan to. I would perform your test however and post my screen shot, don't expect it anytime soon , I'm a busy man, and I still need my phone to use on a regular basis. For now I would speak from my previous tests.

    34min video = 10% battery decrease
    10min preenv asphalt 5 game = 1% decrease
10 min video = no decrease in %

Thanks man ;D, If you had bad battery before It shouldn't make a difference as you should have a battery increase anyway.

I am eager to see the results .

Ok so I did a one hour test, battery was at 92% charge when I started.

Test was done by listening to mp3 player and browsing the net at the same time during the entire 1hr period. The net speed was slow, so you can be sure that it provided additional strain on the n900 since web pages took very long to load, and I made sure I kept switching pages, at most 30secs after they were fully loaded.

The results were a 19% reduction in battery life, after the 1hr period had pass.

Also again you can see the tiny point were I did were I did the restart (couple hrs before the test was made)

    Screenshot descriptions:

The HTOP image shows the cpu load while I was browsing an listening mp3's.

The desktop image shows the percentage and batterymah I had after the 1hr period.

WOAH, THIS IS GREAT!!!!!! By far the best battery life I ever had on the N900. Everybody should apply this!!

Also, Per your request, Here are my results.

The first image is right after the patch (today), and the two images are from before the patch (2 days ago, and yesterday)

    Hi. Just started using your patch, so I haven't seen any of the benefits just yet. I'll post back with results later. But in the mean time, I noticed that in your instructions you say;

    5) To use BoostN900 type in this command in xterm: sh Boost.sh

I think this should be "sh BoostN900.sh" ?

Very minor thing, but someone who doesn't know better might get confused.
