I'm not sure that's possible since the apps you speak of were not developed using the WebOS native SDK. They may be relying on too many WebOS specific libraries to work on Maemo.
The reason that Native SDK developed games work is that they are native C++ type applications that interact much more directly with the Pre hardware (hence the "native" part). And since the Pre hardware is almost identical to the N900 hardware, it works.
