attempting to install zsh resulted in a locked up N800...

then an attempt to load libglade2-0 for evince..tried to install zsh again...
resulting in dpkg death...

any ideas how to clear off the zsh...the AM won't uninstall it and it is registered as being installed in the AM...

thx,

Haha!

Zsh is maintained by Maemo as a cruel practical joke. It doesn't work for anyone. Countless people here have fallen victim to it. You can probably find the arduous process of fixing it with a good search of messages.

I think someone shoud fix this, but my repeated suggestions have fallen on deaf ears. If I had the power to fix it, I would remove it as an alternative so it doesn't catch others. But some people must think that keeping it is like having a permanent banana peel and watching people fall when they walk by. Fun!

yeah..but why does libglade2-0 attempt to "finish" the install of zsh...
that is what is weird...

I guess I could just dpkg -i libglade2-0.deb file...
and forget use'n apt-get for the install portion...and just use it for the download side..

yeah...finally got it thanks...

that /var/lib/dpkg/info was the trick and the 'status' file too...
I just removed all references in the status file...
deleted anything with zsh* in the info directory..
and purged the /etc /bin /usr/bin of any zsh* files...

and *POOF* it's gone and didn't AM works fine again..
