Do a backup then flash then restore.

This will restore contacts and messages, calendar entries, settings and program list. It will then take you to HAM where it will prompt you to say yes a million times then it'll install everything for you.

Really is the only way as your update seems to have missed/corrupted something.

My battery basically drains at a rate of 1 percent every 1-2 minutes. So yes it drains from 100 percent to 0 percent in max of 5 hours
One percent every two minutes would be a max of two hundred minutes, which is three hours and twenty minutes.

So the basic information you gave to begin with is way off.

Five hours is bad, but not the worst ever seen. For example, I have seen the battery going from reading 100 percent to zero percent in five minutes. This is because the battery reading can be very misleading -- it wasn't really at 100% to start with.

Your instant refusal to even consider flashing was another indication that you aren't entirely objective. Flashing is not that bad. If you can't learn to flash and recover from the consequences, you don't know how to use your N900 very well. This is not the fault of the N900.

You are overclocked to 1000 mHz? Of course that might have an effect. Since your N900 should typically go dead in three hours and twenty minutes according to your calculations (see above), you should
try not overclocking and see how long it takes to go dead.

I overclock but after many months of testing I only dare to go to 900 mHz. You are very brave, but you are having what you consider big problems. Maybe you should consider being less brave, or at least learn to be brave enough to flash your N900.

Haha, just to mention, I am a mathematician I gave an approximate number when I said 5 hours. The worst is 1 percent every 1-2 minutes. Lets not talk math though . When it comes to flashing, I am a Mobile Software Engineer, so not a lot know more than me. In fact I am at work right now, flashing some BS motorola phones. Anyways, thanks for your critics and help. I guess flashing will not help, as it does not affect the battery management. I will try things like running it at 900 and so. Thanks again.

Errrr... what? Reflashing will almost definitely help. You probably have some rogue app/process that is spiking the CPU or causing memory leaks.

Thanks for this. What I meant was that I use all the apps I mentioned, so reflashing will mean that I will put them all again, which means if it is an app, it will come back. Thanks again.

The preferred method is to do a clean reflash and then add the apps back one by one until you find the culprit. Huge PIA, but unless it is a "known offender" this may be the only way to isolate the issue.

just a suggestion. there are a few scripts out there people have made to help with better battery. in your case it may not be something drastic but it may help a little. i've got smartclocker and BoostN900 that seem to have greatly increased performance and battery. i use another one but i cant remember who made it or when i downloaded it if i remember ill post back. remember you use them at your own risk though

    Hi ScourgeV,

If you look at your BoostN900 thread, you will see my comments I have applied your patch and I am now keeping an eye on my battery. I dont have enough results as of yet to report, but my fingers are crossed. Thanks for your patch as it was easy to install and understand!

I will consider this as my last option, if everything else fails. Thanks!
