Hey All

So here's what heppened. Last week the update for the enhanced linux kernal arrived, which I installed.

Over the weekend I noticed my camera wasn't working. I checked out the ever helpful threads here and found a possible solution: Xterm root get-app update and get-app upgrade.

Done that, camera still didn't work, but now the problem seems to have worsened.

I hooked the phone up to my laptop this morning and it wouldn't sinc. I turned the phone off with a view to rebooting to see if that would do the trick and now the phone has completely siezed up.

It gets as far as booting to the Nokia welcome screen, then crashes and starts all over again.

I love this phone, I am on my knees praying to the gods of technology that I haven't completely arsed the thing for good.

Any help from the tech guru's right now would be massively welcomed.

Thanks

JC

since it was a kernel you changed you could try flashing just the kernel first. That way you wont lose any settings and whatnot. Here's how:

There are at least 3 threads already dealing with problems because of (power) kernel updates. Use them.

That's what I love about this site - the nice, friendly, open responses to less able members who come unstuck...

To the OP: If I were you I'd learn up on how to reflash - it's not as daunting as it might seem and once you've accomplished it you'll have a huge boost in confidence.

The advantage of a full reflash is you get the chance to start over. kureyon (above) is right in saying that there are other threads relating to kernal updates and that it would be a good idea to study them.

I have successfully overclocked, but with my limited knowledge and abilities I know I have been more lucky than clever. These procedures are really for the advanced user and those of us who 'punch above our weight' only have ourselves to blame if we can't get ourselves out of the Sh1T.

It's not like we've never been warned

I came running when I saw the number of dots in the thread title.
Phew though, looks like everything is in control.

Update: thanks for making the heading clearer
