Why do you want/need the N9?

Second that! If all the capacitive are like the N8 one (my wife's got it), they blow bigtime. It's so damned unprecise and reacts extremely poor. The N900 resistive one is just great (except maybe in the scree edges), I can even use it with my gloves on! I don't give a crap about "multitouch", it's just an iPhone hype that's just a bad idea. The N900 screen gestures are much smarter.

If N9 gets a capacitive screen, I don't want it.

+1 on the accuracy. I don't want to give up the accuracy of the N900 resistive screen.

Keep in mind though that as resistive technology is progressing towards multi-touch, capacitive technology is working on accuracy:

If both end up working well, I'd go with either, leaning towards the capacitive side for the ability to put my phone in my pocket without having to worry about accidental screen presses. Resistive screens should be a more popular choice for those that lived in places that got especially cold for various reasons, though the deciding factors would probably lie in other device features rather than the capacity/resistive differences.
