Hi all,
I am currently experiencing issues that ONLY happens when I use kernel-power. For some odd reason I can run nbench for hours without anything failing, but I can't play a video in the standard media player for more than a few seconds - it simply says that the media isn't supported, and then I get this in my kernel log: Code:
WMD_DEH_Notify: ********** DEVICE EXCEPTION ********** WMD_DEH_Notify: DSP_SYSERROR, errInfo = 0x102 And it's not because the source file is corrupt. I've tried playing it in mplayer and it played perfectly fine. Which means this issue isn't that big of a deal to me - it's just a smaller annoyance. Another thing I'd like to note is that I can play music +10 hours in a row using the integrated media player without it stopping or anything, which has me scratching my head even more. Anyone else with the issue? As I said it's not pressing, but it'd definitely be nice if somebody else could throw in their 2 cents as well ![]() Thanks, gonX |

my issue with kernel-power is, when i play an mp4 (H.264), the video always lags. it plays fine with default kernel. But, here is what happens.
If i sent my lowest frequency to 500mhz, its all fine. the video plays without any lags but with any profile with the lower frequency of 250, the problem occurs. I hve not been able to figure it out yet |

overclock settings also adjust the dsp speed.
start using the power kernel without any overclocking. e.g. the default settings ans see if things work fine then. If so you can gradually play with overclock settings. you might also create your own settings file with overclocked cpuspeed but for example leave the dsp speed at its original speed. Note that lowering voltage may also influence dsp behaviour (not sure about this last one though) |

ive tried with default settings and thats where it doesnt work for me. at 500mhz, the dsp rate is "360" and thats where my videos work fine. if i set the dsp at "360" for 250mhz, the effect is worse.. any assist on this?

250 mhz to run the H.264 codec with the master core :| ... Only in your dreams. The priority of the hardware is to ensure the soundtrack stream, the video displaying has a low priority.
