just one message: fuuu and post this pointless thread on official forums where is 1% chance that someone from nokia will read it.
ps: n900 speakers are just fine, black metal sounds just awesome from these speakers! I always turn it on in tram, and people always stare at me ( they adore how my n900 sounds for sure)
OP is right: there are too many teenagers/fanboys here who can't stand people criticizing their idols. Guess what: constructive criticism is much more valuable than "I love you the way you are" type of mentality if Nokia is serious about making improvements.

The problem with these threads, and the posts that start them, is that they say nothing new and are not "constructive criticism" but the reiteration of old news and quickly devolve into stupid arguments.
It also doesn't help that one person's experience is totally subjective, with problems that may be actual problems or simply are the result of user perception or outright user error.
I've had my N900 for just shy of a year and haven't had a single problem that wasn't software related, and pretty much all of them have been fixed. Yet somehow his angry rant and resulting flamewar is valuable but my generally uneventful year with the device would be regarded as blatant fanboyism.
3 free fixes without me paying a cent, may show the objectivity and correct use, no?
I never said that u, not having problems, is fanboy-behaviour.
I'm saying "Ignoring people with bad experiences" is fanboy-behaviour. I'm didn't want to start an anti-maemo thread. I wanted to share my own experience, my disappointment in Nokia.
Anyway, how can you delete your account? I'm moving on, new horizons to discover
But I get SO tired of seeing Slender constantly repeat something along the lines of "you can't complain if you ever installed something from extras testing or devel"!
So let me repeat what I say: If you don't use apps from extras testing or devel, you aren't using your N900 properly and you should consider getting rid of it.
As to how difficult it is to keep your N900 running decently if you run apps from testing or devel, another claim Slender makes, it just isn't true. I have no problem making my N900 run decently. I pay no attention to whether apps are from testing and devel. I never have, going back to my N800, N810 and N900.
I'm also overclocking, btw, one of the great advances in using the N900.
my generalizations are based on maemo wiki info on about testing, devel and my own experiences. I'm not saying that you should not try testing and devel but if you choose to download apps from these places then you are on your own and for FCK sake try to behave according to it (google, read, google, read, make thread and be kind to the fault!)
I have modified hildon components, modified pulseaudi, stuff from devel and currently my system runs pretty well.If something happens the first clown I'm going to point at is my mirror image.
The fancy apps and games got boring after a couple of days. i used to crave more apps and games for my N900, now i'm just happy being able to customise my desktop how i want.
Grass isnt always greener, but good luck with your droid phone.
