juandp77: I see you're recommending the use of 'sudo qchroot', why not use quserchroot to run the apps as user instead of root?
to be honest with you I use uchroot, a modifided version of qchroot that doesn't use the home folder of the device in order to have diferent .config files in ubuntu and debian, I will take a look to quserchroot thank you very much

remove sudo qchroot and put jus quserchroot without the sudo
Ok thanks i suppose this is for solving "another instance is running error"?
Wow I just skimmed all 26 pages and my head is spinning. A couple of general questions before I begin...
1) is all the relevant information in these 26 pages getting updated to the instructions on the first page?
2) would it be possible to get a big picture summary of what is working and what is not working in these distro's? that way one could take the path of least resistance or at least know what they were up against before starting...
btw would this work on the n900? I know it is arm but I don't know what other requirements there are to getting a disto working on this device... http://www.armedslack.org/

Looks like the panel is missing the LXDE menu and an application launcher etc. To add those (and to configure/add a new panel) press and hold your stylys somewhere where you see the green cpu load graphs. This will bring up "panel settings" from where you can modify the panel.
UPDATE: I've created a .deb file for ubuntu that emulates the scripts from easy-debian, I've only tested in my device
So if someone feels brave enough to prove it and help me tested, please let me know
