hi
I can't download anything with my n900. I've tried default browser, firefox, opera and even gpodder but no success. Nothing is downloaded and after hitting download button a banner pops up showing "not allowed". any idea?

This sound like a permission problem, try running your browsers as root.

You shouldn't be running it as root. My guess is you had connected the N900 as mass-storage device at some point and didn't "safely remove" it and hence rendering the MyDocs partition read-only. You can check this by opening X Terminal and running:

Code:
mount

Or... a suggestion that never hurts: Re-connect your N900 as mass-storage and use the windows tools (right click on the drive in explorer) to check/repair the drive. After it does so, it should just mount properly and work.
