Apserlutely garantee someone can make it work, this is something small and i bet all it takes is 5 minutes for a dev to figure out what needs doing.

Pairing? Its a wired headset, not bluetooth, that would require pairing / unpairing

When i kill headset-control process, and start it manually using terminal i get the following :
Quote:
process 2678:arguments to dbus_connection_send_with_reply_and_block() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 3298.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
process 2678:arguments to dbus_connection_add() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 5257.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
process 2678:arguments to dbus_connection_unref() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 2657.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
Aborted.
I also noted that in headset-control's description says PR1.2 only..
So, i'm guessing when these bugs are fixed it will work on PR1.3 also...

Headset is found by the phone tho, dmesg gives the following :
Quote:
headphone (GPIO 177) is now connected
input: headset button as /class/input/input1
Any further ideas?

TRX.

I agree that the default headset shipped with N900 has only one button that is used for answering and ending a call.

If I am not wrong Headset-Control is designed for music that he handles mediaplayer functions like pause/play, Revind, fwd etc.

So how is it helpful with N900 which consists of a headset with no Media keys?

It turns out that headset-control in fact does work. But it is designed for original N900 headset or others with ONE button...

Hardware wise as noted by joerg_rw it should be possible but there is NO software for it yet.

Yeah, being a part of open source, we need to design an API that will make it work with any nokia Headset

OK so you are saying that Headset-Control, which was primarily designed for manipulating music, when comes to N900 will only be helpful in answering & endinng the call with that one button?

OK I thought the purpose of that button is to answer/end call.

So tell me with me WH-500 there is a button for answer/end call, will it work pause and play? With rest of the buttons not working?
