I don't think someone who just bought an N800 yesterday and visits this forum can be trusted to figure out that a flat-out statement such as "I'm so excited" about a forthcoming event may be a complete lie. People who say "yes, I lied to you and I'm glad I did" exclude themselves from the group I am interested in talking to. If you can''t trust anything someone says, communicating with them is just a waste of time.

I am not suggesting we put rattlers in anyone's mailbox. Banishment is an ancient remedy against someone who violates the implicit social contract we have with each other.

I got jumped on page one about not being able to utilize the video function of the device. Let me state that a ported application using GTK and SDL isn't what I would call video calls. Anyone actually use the software? Let alone that the device (based on Linux) isn't capable of sending and receiving video with a Linux desktop. MacOSX either. So here we have a device who's claim to fame is open platform that lacks the ability to speak with platforms consistently. My one last grasping hope was skype. It may have been a pipe dream as Skype on Linux currently doesn't even support video. I feel tricked by Nokia for purchasing an E61 last year with the understanding that skype "was close." So here we are still close...still without a video solution that is stable/feature capable. Maybe a few months from now it will all change and I will run out to purchase again. For now, enjoy the flame wars on who has the inside information. Just don't look at the E61 forums, those guys have had inside information on the Skype client for a year

I'm waiting for that 2.0 web-browser and Flash 9 player updates, the Skype is not that urgent anyway.

Wow, the old "I was just making it up to cause a stir" routine. That must be really funny ... except to those that said all along that this was the case. Shame it never really took off.

I'm not sure about opera 2.0 - we're waiting for version 9, I don't see how version 2.0 would do any good.

As for Skype, I couldn't agree more.

Well, you're the second that is talking of web 2.0 browser and flash 9.

Are those just you're hopes or did you read anything about this anywhere?!

I did a count... texrat called me 52 names (ie. 52 personal attacks) and nothing was done about it so I did my payback. It was none of you whom he was constantly calling names... it was me.

What if you were called 52 names in 9 different threads?

What names did he actually use? I find it quite difficult to find these personal attacks that you talk about.
