The browser in the N95 can not access Google Docs. Just tried it. It identifies the browser as Safari. Google says they are working on a fix.

Greetings:

Can it be possible that 5, 232 visitors and 60 replies for this thread about Skype being available for the N800 hasn't found an answer?

Nokia can you see there are many followers waiting for the Skype software.

Regards Robert

The answer to the thread title was revealed in comment #13 - the 11 June date was a hoax.

No new firmware is yet available but as Nokia promised "Skype in Q2" they've still got 18 days to deliver it!

Milhouse, do you have a link to where nokia claims "Skype in Q2" ?

Is skype the only thing nokia has definitely committed to?

Thanks.

From the Nokia 8 January CES press release (5th para):

The first implementation on the Nokia N800 is expected to be made available for download by the end of first half of 2007.
So I've been misquoting slightly as Nokia didn't promise Skype in Q2 but before the end of H1. However since the last 3.2007.10-1 firmware released 31 March didn't have Skype, the "end of H1" and "in Q2" timelines are pretty much the same thing!

Thanks! I had never read the press release.

Apropos of nothing, Safari for Windows is out and is quite nice.

Yea, I've been using Safari on Windows XP and I'm impressed.

Anyways, when I refer to Web 2.0 browser, I mean compatible with Google Docs, Jellyfish Smack Shopping... etc... Stuff that just doesn't run on it now (thus not 'web 2.0' compatible.

I just ran a firmware update this morning - still the same.
I'll run another tonight... I hate borking my device.

I've been running Safari for about 3 years. Mac, but it is nice to see it on a Windows machine.

Ya gotta look in the right place. Here's a hint: first star on the right, straight on 'til morning.
