    anyway this is my plan:
    1. remove battery patch / speed patch
    2. revert to stock nokia kernel
    3. reapply cssu
    4. reapply v48 of kernel power
    5. reapply battery and speed patch

let's see if anything weird happens then.

    thanks.

Since installing CSSU 16.8 GPS no longer works. Have given up on CSSU Features Config as it repeatedly gives a fail error. Anybody else have similar issue? Makes my head spin!

Yes, others have had the same issue. If you had bothered to read the 4 posts preceding yours you would also know why, and how to fix it . As for the features config, use "search this thread" since this also has been discussed here somewhere.

As I said before, liblocation and friends are closed source and weren't touched in the cssu, and although I'd like to blame the server, it works fine on the N86, so it could be Nokia doing changes to how the server replies to the N900.

But there could be something changed, that is queried by liblocation and then sent maybe in the header to the supl.nokia.com server.
So the only thing to do is snif a message sent to the supl.nokia.com before and one after the update and compare.
    Port number is 7275

    telnet supl.nokia.com 7275
    Trying 83.150.75.211...
    Connected to default.nokia.supl.geodns.fi.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    quit

    Connection closed by foreign host.

    Doesn't work here (Manchester, UK).

supl.nokia.com uses geographic-based load balancing, and it appears some of the nodes are FUBAR, but still being returned by the balancer.

Changing 'nokia' to 'google' works, handily, it seems.

    Could be.
But if people aren't seeing that port open from NMAP scans, it looks like Nokia's problem to me.
