    Your N900 is not locked. The frequencies used by Telus is not compatible with the N900, which is why you don't see the network. Only Rogers/Fido (at Edge speed), Wind and Mobilicity can work with the N900.

    Telus & Bell's new HSPA network will not work with many phones

    Bell & Telus do not have the GSM/EDGE network to fall back on like Rogers/Fido do.

    It will not support Nokia N900. Rogers, Fido and Wind will with Edge (Data)

    To see what networks work with the N900 see this link Here is a link to the coverage maps. TELUS uses WCDMA on 850 and 1900 MHz. The N900 uses GSM on those bands.

    @OP
    On the plus side, this bizarre setup should give you an out in your contract if you so choose.

    Does your old SIM (from the previous carrier) work? Or if you don't have that account anymore, try a friend's SIM from that network.

    Between the two sims you didn't install the leaked pr1.2 instead of the official one, did you?

    Ok all is done!

    Its not ''lock'' problem....not ''sim card'' problem.

    its just Telus Band and frequency never be compatible with n900 simply.

    I move to Videotron tomorow! 3g+ 1700 be supported.

    i test it the sim in the device before sign lol!

    Tx for all help.
