You have to use google translate.. or you'll never understand..

    The deb is in home/user/MyDocs?
    You have to type :

    dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/maemodder_0.8-3_all.deb

    Ok now?

    1. install rootsh with program-manager
    2. tap x-terminal in homescreen
    3. type: sudo gainroot
    4. type: dpkg -i maemodder.deb
    5. go to homescreen and tap maemodder

remember the app is free. danny is giving free support. also it is helpful to have a programming degree not only to use computer device but to understand the world. sadly i don't have one and i will never get one but i try to learn and i also i try to understand the world although it is sometimes very tough! hope it helps!

-.-''' mora.... every device, from iphone to any nokia from the First World War, has some system directories.
Install FILEBOX and give a look to the structure of the directories..

When you plug you n900 to the pc in mass memory mode, the file are stored in /home/user/MyDocs , that is even the directory "N900" in the default file manager on the device.

So if you have put the deb file in "N900" (this name can change if you change the name of the device in the bluetooth settings...) you will have to type in the terminal :

    sudo gainroot
    dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/maemodder_0.8-3_all.deb

If you don't understand now... look for a bridge and use it xD

I have a suggestion on the MAG desktop.

Have a PIN and UN-pin option to keep it from getting updated "over"
