what i understand from ur post that first i have to do to x-terminal and write [sudo gainroot apt-get update[/code], what does the code mean?? i am preety much nervous of doing this, plz help me

Your normal Vodafone GPRS won't work cause that is only for WAP sites.
Which city in India are you located? I know this cause I am also from India in Mumbai.
