It seems we will be stuck with an old Opera for quite a while if Opera refuses to even acknowledge the presence of its browser on the 770/N800...

Opera has a new Mini in pre-beta >> http://www.operamini.com/beta/

It also appears they are trying some new things with AJAX >> http://my.opera.com/Think/blog/2006/...ax-mobile-ajax (new for them at least, LoL)...

At this point we can only hope. I'm sure it all depends on the scope of Nokia's relationship with them.

Opera mini needs java phone edition or some such.. which we don't have (yet) on the N800. It runs fine on my Palm Tungsten T3 though.

how is that new since its dated 2006?

I don't think opera has any control on whether they update the browser or not. Its up to Nokia to request them to update the browser since ultimately Nokia is paying the bill for the upgrade.

I've been thinking why the Opera have to be the default browser? Was it only working browser back then when Nokia made decision to use Opera in tablets? Now it seems like we are stuck with it. It is slow to.get updated browser to tablets and device is behind all the time from new progress in internet use.
