Hi all... I live in India and got my N900. i use vodafone live connection and having the same problem of not being able to update the extras repository. but i can browse the internet alright. also i am not able to use the gps. the phone keeps on searching the gps until i close the application. do u people from India have the same problem? anyone tried vodafone 3G on N900? would switching to 3G solve my problem?
Basic question: Is the extras repository enabled in Hildon Application Manager (HAM) at all? Did you tweak the settings for GPS usage in the settings application to enable the GSM/3G positioning.
the extras repository in the application manager is NOT 'Disabled'. and i suppose that Hildon Application Manager (HAM) is same as Application Manager that we go from the main menu.
also i have disabled the extras repository from the application manager, restarted the phone and enabled the repository and tried to update, but even that didnt work.
but my problem with using the gps was solved when i used the option 'allow network positioning' from the settings.
