If that's the case then I don't think it blows the doors off Maemo Mapper. I download the set of maps I need (one relatively large view and a set of detailed maps for the location I'm going to) and I don't need a network connection again.

Map from GPS location is being rolled out to all google maps clients, it works quite well on my blackberry curve and my n800 has pretty much gone into a state of disuse lol =(

Can't wait for the june update, I'd like to start using skype!

When people say they don't use their N800's I have to ask what did they ever use/want to use them for anyway? I have had numerous s60 symbian phones which blow away the PIM, 3rd party software and connectivity of the N800. I knew this when I bought it but the display is simply too good for browsing and for running applications it always feels more like working on a UMPC than on a PDA/smartphone.

Anyway on-topic I have an iPaq Winmo 5 device and an N800. The iPaq collects dust since I no longer use outlook as the base for my PIM. I have a combination of Google Calendar, OWA, GPE and syncing tools for email, calendar and contacts that works pretty much seamlessly. The dell would probably be better if you don't want to tinker but the N800 has more upside.

You can map from your GPS location in Maemomapper. I've done it a few times this trip already.
