I can remember that even HTC was not able to develop custom UI regardless of the fact they always using custom UI on other platforms, even WM6.x ones. MS does not supports this in WP7 and you can't do this. So it looks like Nokia could be just as "exclusive" as any other WP7 phone. And technically they're just as any other device. What makes 'em exclusive? Just MS? MS is such a boring company, it can't make exclusive things, they only can make something that you would hate but would be forced to use "due to corporate policy" or other silly stuff .

MS have told Nokia they can customise the UI and design, but Elop said nokia probably won't.

Sure, why not? That would depend on the hardward, take a hundred bucks off the price for the crap OS, then I would find some way to put Linux on it.

I don't think so... I like some of the things the n900 can do like no other.

Probebly end up with a very simple phone and using a tablet for everything else.

    want more to read... http://blog.dawid.lorenz.co/2011/02/...n-sad-but.html

Btw I am one of those 2 year guys... ask me again oktober 2012

I must say the n900 does more things then I hoped fore.
    Some things it does not.

    maybe a 'n9' or a n900 as the next replacement ... ... ...

So, you can defeat Ti's "secure" boot feature for example? oO ("secure" means that it securely prevents you from taking control over your device, hehe ). Hint: take a look on xbox360. Then try to boot Linux on it. And at least Ti OMAP can implement similar feature (Nokia uses signing a lot on Symbian devices and you will have some trouble with signatures for sure).

The only reason i can think of for me buying a phone running a MS OS would be to scavenge for parts.

i'm open minded enough. i'd try one. as long as its constructed with aluminum parts too, that would be a plus. lol

i just dont like the windows logo button at the bottom so i may apply dark black heavy car tint on that area.

plus i'd buy anything TOM ARNOLD is trying to sell. LOLOLOL

After using a Rockboxed iriver H320, an Archos 605 Wifi(Horrible mistake, IMHO), a Nokia N770 and now a Nokia N900, I am -never- going back to anything without a Linux terminal and root privlidges. Oh, and a locked-down bootloader is also a no-no.

WP7's just about the opposite of what I want, so... No way.
