Hey folks,

Figured this was the best place to ask as most of you will understand what is meant by real multitasking.

With the advent of the nokia decision to disappoint us once more I'm looking for advice on which (current or upcoming) smartphone OS' multitasking is the best, or their pros/cons/quirks.

I'm aware iphone can background applications and they have a limited set of 7 (?) messages they can use/respond to. I'm unsure if this backgrounding saves the state of the app to disk/swap/somewhere or whether it stays in memory, but this on iphones i've used has been incredibly slow when swapping apps.

From what i've heard (this was back in the eclair(maybe?)-ish days) android's multitasking freezes the state of the app to disk unless its marked as a service. However this might be a simplistic view. I've had a quick google around but I can't seem to find a good answer.

webOS's multitasking i'm completely in the dark, does anyone know how it handles things?

I'll keep looking around but figured it might spike up some discussion.
