1) The native n900 browser can play flash, but I installed firefox & opera, those cant. I figured that the flash .so file needs to be installed. So I searched .so file using "find / -name *so" and found the flash .so file. I copied the file into the firefox directory with the other .so files, but it still doesnt work. Can someone explain why?

2) Can I install google chrome on n900? Can I download the .deb file, copy it on n900 and run dpkg?

3) How can I connect to my n900 from windows xp over WiFi?

4) Is there any VNC server for maemo?

Officially, Firefox Mobile doesn't support Flash. Unofficially, you can still go ahead and enable it; I've done this on mine, and use Flash just fine with it. You don't need to download anything (Firefox will go ahead and use the Flash already present on the n900), you just have to change a few settings.

This web page is where I got my info on what to do:

http://www.nokiaphoneblog.com/2010/0...bile-1-0-n900/

The latest version of Firefox looks a little different than the one in that article, but in short the steps are pretty much the same. Here is what you need to do:

1) Go to the "about:config" page in Firefox.

2) Search for the following two preferences:

plugin.default_plugin_disabled
plugin.disable

and change the values of both of these from "true" to "false".

3) Restart Firefox, and voila, Flash is now available.

Edit: drat, naabi answered this one before I got to it.

Help. I am trying to connect to my ubuntu using VNC Viewer. It is able to connect but I am not getting any feedback on N900. If I click on n900, the click goes to my desktop(and say it opens a window) but the screen on n900 doesnt update.

Those instructions are outdated for Firefox 4b4 and later.

Flash on Firefox Mobile 4b4 and later:

No need for easy debian....
Flash works in it out of the box but is a a little unstable.

The nokiablog procedure above is for older builds and thus outdated.
Hmm. I'm using the 1.1 version of Firefox Mobile from the download link on the Firefox homepage, rather than the beta off the nightly build; I don't even see the "dom.ipc.plugins.enabled" on my about:config page. (And, in any case, the old method still worked for me.) Perhaps it'll take a bit longer before the updates in the main branch work their way out to an official release?

1.1 is ancient.
4.x has loads of changes.

Flash support was completly overhauled in 4b4 hence the new config variable.
