End of story.

lol Arnim, I currently have a SE p900 and when I get that out anywhere people are instantly attracted and interested, best icebreaker ever, especially as I have lemmings on it , I certainly hope it'll be the same with the 770, I love watching people experimenting with it and figuring out how to use it

Damn! When I whip out my P910i, chicks run for the hills.

...

Wait... that was your actual phone's name?

No, I mean, you said, "Experimenting with it" and such and I figured I wasn't the only one who'd named it after a phone.

Yeah... I already thought that lemmings were kinda weird as a tattoo.

Going back to the idea of playing mp3's, I've ordered a 770 and already have a 1gb rsmmc (will be upgrading to 2gb when tabs is here) but, when playing any music can the cover be put back on properly so that its covering the screen without stopping the audio, isnt it meant to put the device into standby? which would mean no audio presumably?

Putting the cover back on the 770 never halted playback for me. The magnet switch in the cover puts the 770 into "softpoweroff" mode, which keeps a.o. the music player active.

The only problem might be the headphone lead. Not-so-clever design there...

Cool, thanks for the help, presumably when you remove the cover from the back (with the headphones in) you can twist the lead to the front, and then turn it to the back and put it back on?

The more I use these ITs (770 and N800), I think the addition of bluetooth-to-your-phone connectivity was a stroke of genius. Given that your phone has a data plan, it ensures that you will be connected (almost) anywhere you go.

Most of the reasons to buy an N800 are really cool because of Wi-Fi connectivity. But there (obviously) many places where Wi-Fi isn't there. Phone connectivity brings N800 connection possibilities very close to everywhere.

So, there's another reason to get an N800. It connects in more places than your laptop while doing most of the same functions.

^ Bingo. I don't drive around or go on any tripes without my bluetooth phone and N800 now. The combo has become indispensable.

Yeah, you'd think (he said, un-fondly remembering more than one occasion when his 770 went near-ballistic because of failed turning-the-cover trick).
